Branches or bamboo or with 21th century wood,

Little huts, little booths,

We gather in this tabernacle to…

Remind us of a yearly jubilee,

Little tents, little tee pees,

Israel’s trials become a feast,

With a citron on the left with a lulav on the right,

They stayed in booths for 7 days and 7 nights,

Decorated with banners, posters, flags and lights.

Little house, little dome,

This booth is for sukkot,

Sukkah is the name of this miniature home.

May 21 is not doomsday! Read Ya Bibles!

I wouldn't be surprised if those with the "May 21" belief say on May 22nd, "It wasn't a physical doomsday but a spiritual one." When God destroyed the earth during Noah's times, it was VERY PHYSICAL. They need to seriously exam Matthew 24 again. "These are just the birth pains of what is to come." I just hope that no one loses their faith for this non-sense.

Was the law done away with?

Should we really throw away the "Old Testament" in the bible? Has it really been done away with? Who gave us permission to pick and choose what to keep in the old covenant? Yes, obey mother and father but break the Sabbath? Does man have the power to make something holy? Is God not the same Yesterday, Today and Forever?

There are 613 commandments in the Old Testament and about 1050 in the New. Interesting huh?

I know a couple of  passages in the "New Testament" that says other wise. Matthew 5:17-19.  P.S. the author of this passage is Yeshua (Jesus). If we are to be like HIM then lets start with following directions from HIM and not mistranslations of men. Replacement theology does not make any sense.

The Fulfillment of the Law

    ¹⁷ “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. ¹⁸ For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. ¹⁹ Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. ²⁰ For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Evangelists Say Muslims Coming to Christ at Historic Rate

Christians ministering quietly in the Middle East say Muslims are coming to Christ at an unprecedented pace despite intense persecution of those who leave Islam.

“Probably in the last 10 years, more Muslims have come to faith in Christ than in the last 15 centuries of Islam,” said Tom Doyle, Middle East-Central Asia director for e3 Partners, a Texas-based missions agency.

A former pastor, Doyle has been to the Middle East around 80 times and last week returned to the U.S. from a trip to Jerusalem, where he said both Muslims and Jews are turning to Christianity.

Earlier this month, more than 200 former Muslims were baptized during a training conference in Europe led by Iran-born evangelist Lazarus Yeghnazar. Brenda Ajamian, a former missionary to the Middle East who partners with Yeghnazar’s 222 Ministries International, said the event was unlike anything she’d seen during her years ministering in Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan.

“That many Muslims who converted to Christ in one place boggled my mind because missionaries have worked in the Arab world and Muslim world generally for years and without much fruit,” Ajamian said. “God is at work among Muslims.”

Ajamian said she was told at the conference that drug addiction and depression run rampant in many nations, particularly in Iran, where the cleric-led government has attempted to squash pro-democracy movements. “People are so fed up with the kinds of lives they lead. … They’re turning to Christ even in spite of the very real possibility of persecution and death and imprisonment,” she said.

Desperation is also a big factor in bringing many Jews to Christ, Doyle said. “In the last 20 years more Jews [also] have become followers of Jesus than in the last 2,000 years of Christianity,” he said.

Radio, television and Internet-based Christian programming have been key in evangelizing Muslim nations. Yeghnazar claims more than 3,000 Iranians are converted each month through his Farsi-language television and Internet broadcasts.

And Doyle said Father Zakaria Botross, a born-again Coptic priest, reaches about 60 million people through his television programs broadcast across the Middle East. “The apostle Paul to the Muslims is no question Father Zakaria,” Doyle said.

But many Muslim-background believers have said they came to Christ after having dreams and visions of Jesus.

“I can’t tell you how many Muslims I’ve met who say: ‘I was content. I was a Muslim, and all of a sudden I get this dream about Jesus and He loved me and said come follow Me,” Doyle said.

Doyle notes that the supernatural is an important part of the Islamic faith. Through the course of his life, Mohammed claimed to have had visions and encounters, particularly of the angel Gabriel.

“God is going into their context,” said Doyle. But instead of finding guidance from Allah, Muslims are finding Jesus.

Haytham Abi Haydar, pastor of the Arabic Fellowship Alliance Church in Dearborn, Mich., a heavily Islamic Detroit suburb, said dreams and the supernatural are important to Muslims. “They’re so powerful and real. They do consider that as a channel to speak to God and see something important,” said Abi Haydar, who’s also heard of Jesus coming to Muslims in dreams.

Ajamian said churches of Muslim-background believers are growing “like wildfire” both in the Middle East and in Europe, which has seen a boom in immigration from Muslim nations.

“The Muslims that are saved … it’s like they can’t tell the story fast enough,” Ajamian said.

Doyle said though the harvest is ripe in Middle Eastern nations, the spiritual warfare also has ramped up. “People feel it. It just feels more intense,” he said.

The stress, he said, is particularly high right now during Ramadan, the time Muslims fast and pray in commemoration of the time they believe Mohammed divinely received the first verses of the Quran. He said people are getting sick and even having nightmares.

“When Ramadan comes, you really sense the war in the heavenlies,” he said.

Christians in many Muslim nations can be imprisoned or killed for converting from Islam. But Ajamian said the persecution is a sign that God is answering prayers for the Muslim world. “There’s a move of God,” she said. “…The devil doesn’t like it, but there is a huge move.”

The Blood that Makes Atonement

Under the older covenant, sacrifices merely "covered" sins for a single year, but under the new covenant, these sins are taken entirely away (Hebrews 7:27, 9:12, 9:25-28). There is no more need for continual sacrifices, since Yeshua provided the once-and-for-all sacrifice for all of our sins (Hebrews 9:11-14; 9:24-28; 10:11-20).

Two Images of the Atonement

The first goat was a propitiating sin offering. The high priest slaughtered this goat, which acted as a substitute for the sinners who deserved a violently bloody death for their many sins. Then the high priest, acting as the representative and mediator between the sinful people and their holy God, would take the second goat and lay his hands on the animal while confessing the sins of the people. This goat, called the scapegoat, would then be sent away to die in the wilderness away from the sinners, symbolically expiating or removing the sins of the people by taking them away. The sacrifices of the Day were designed to pay for both sin’s penalty and sin’s presence in Israel. The shedding of blood and the sending off of the scapegoat were meant to appease God's wrath against sin and to cleanse the nation, the priesthood, and even the sanctuary itself from the taint of sin (Lev 16:30).

The Lamb of God

The Day of Atonement was a foreshadowing of Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, and our great High Priest who is able to sympathize with us in our weakness. These great images of the priest, slaughter, and scapegoat are all given by God to help us more fully comprehend Jesus’ bloody sacrifice for us on the cross. Jesus’ fulfillment of the Day of Atonement is why we are forgiven for and cleansed from our sins. To preach anything else is to proclaim a “different gospel,” which is no gospel at all (Gal 1:6-7). Spurgeon drives this point home: “Many pretend to keep the atonement, and yet they tear the bowels out of it. They profess to believe in the gospel, but it is a gospel without the blood of the atonement; and a bloodless gospel is a lifeless gospel, a dead gospel, and a damning gospel”

Yeshua (Jesus) fulfills and accomplishes forever what the two goats symbolized. The Old Testament sacrifice of animals has been replaced by the perfect sacrifice of Christ (Heb 9:26, 10:5-10; 1 John 2:1-2 and 4:9-10). Christ paid sin’s penalty (Rom 3:25-26 and 6:23; Gal 3:13). He redeemed us (Eph 1:7), paying the price that sets us free (1 Cor 6:20; Gal 5:1). He turned away God’s wrath (Rom 3:25) and reconciled believers to God (Eph 2:16) so we can be forgiven for our sins and cleansed from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

oes Matthew 5:17-19 say that Yeshua (Jesus) 'did away with the law'? What exactly did Yeshua (Jesus) mean by His comments on fulfilling the law in these somewhat difficult verses? Here is a vital subject which has caused much controversy; lamentably it is also a subject which often produces much emotional heat but little in-depth theological consideration.

Let us look at this Scripture. Since there exists (unfounded) prejudice against the NIV Bible and I want to keep everybody with me for the next few minutes I have decided to use the NKJV. Okay, these are the words of Yeshua:

(Verse 17) 'Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfil.
(Verse 18) For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
(Verse 19) Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
(Matthew 5:17-19 - NKJV).

The only law that was done away with was animal sacrificing. two reasons: 1, the temple was destroyed, therefore no animal sacrifices can now take place and 2, the most important reason of all, Yeshua (Jesus) was the eternal sacrifice (The lamb that was slain).

The Christian Feast of Trumpets and The Jewish Rosh Hashanah

According to the God-designed Bible Calendar (i.e. Exodus 12:2), the first day of the month of Tishri (which is the seventh month on The Lord's calendar, see Bible Months) is a Holy Day to Jews throughout Israel and the world. They call it Rosh Hashanah. To Christians, it's known as the Feast of Trumpets.

The Jewish Rosh Hashanah

Jewish tradition holds that Rosh Hashanah celebrates the anniversary of the creation of the world (see The Seven Days Of Creation), a day when "God takes stock of all of His Creation," which of course includes all of humanity. Translated from the Hebrew, Rosh Hashanah means "head of the year" - rosh means head, while hashanah means year. Jews believe that God's judgment on this day determines the course of the coming year.

Rosh Hashanah is a Jewish festival in which most work ceases, just as on the weekly Sabbath. It's celebrated both in joy and solemnity. During the daily prayer service a ram's horn, or in the Hebrew, shofar (example shown above) is sounded:

"And The Lord [see YHVH, Adonai, Jehovah, LORD] spake unto Moses [see also The Education Of Moses], saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto The Lord." (Leviticus 23:23-25 KJV)

The Christian Feast of Trumpets

God does not do things in vain, or without purpose. The Old Testament (see The First Christian Bible) Holy Days were not just some sort of Divine make-work project to keep the Israelites busy while they were out wandering in the desert (see Wilderness Journey). All of the Old Testament Holy Days (Passover, Unleavened Bread, The Feast of Weeks/Pentecost, The Feast of Trumpets, The Day Of Atonement, The Feast Of Tabernacles and The Eighth Day - see also Christian Living) were, and continue to be, living symbols of the stages of God's Plan of Salvation for all humanity. Those events are now in progress, and true Christians, who are spiritual Israel (see Physical and Spiritual Israel and Daughter of Zion) are the manifestation of it.

In the Christian world, Rosh Hashanah is known as The Feast Of Trumpets. Many Christians observe this festival for its Christian prophetic application - The Return Of Jesus Christ and the first resurrection (see Resurrections). Just as Christ, the Lamb of God, was sacrificed at Passover (in spring, in the northern hemisphere), for which The Lord instituted Passover to symbolize and foreshadow, it is very likely that His return will be at the time of the Feast of Trumpets (in autumn, in the northern hemisphere), for which The Lord instituted the Feast of Trumpets to symbolize and foreshadow.

"Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality." (1 Corinthians 15:51-53 KJV) [see "That which is born of the Spirit is spirit"]

"For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, To Meet The Lord In The Air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." Feast of Trumpets

Rosh Hashanah is Scripturally known as the Feast of Trumpets/Day of Blowing the Shofar. It begins on the first day of Etanim (Tishri) which is the seventh month in the biblical calendar. So Rosh Hashanah isn't really the Jewish New Year. Traditionally Rosh Hashanah has become a time of family gatherings, special meals and sweet tasting foods. It is biblically a day of blowing the shofar and begins a ten day period known as "Days of Awe" lasting until Yom Kippur. Rosh Hashanah is also viewed as a day of judgement -- where people examine their lives for sin, and have ten days to make peace with those whom they have hurt, or broken promises to. It is the time to cast away sin, as symbolized by the traditional act of Tashlich ('to cast') -- where people visit a body of moving water and cast bread crumbs into the water -- this symbolically "casts away" our sin into the river. This tradition originates from Micah 7:19, "He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea."

חֲנֻכָּה‎ך - Hannukah or Chanukah is from the Hebrew meaning "dedication" or "consecration." Hanukkah marks the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem after its desecration by the forces of the King of Syria Antiochus IV Epiphanes and commemorates the "miracle of the container of oil". According to the Old Testement (Talmud), at the re-dedication following the victory of the Maccabees over the Seleucid Empire, there was only enough consecrated olive oil to fuel the eternal flame in the Temple for one day. Miraculously, the oil burned for eight days, which was the length of time it took to press, prepare and consecrate fresh olive oil.

For Jewish believers in Jesus (Messanic Christians/ Hebrew Christians/ Judeo- Christians ) and Christians, the "festival of lights" or festival of dedication, reminds us of the deliverance we have is through "the Light of the world."
