A father's Day Poem

Papi

From a child to adolescent then finally into a man,
Prepared with love and strength to become what was planned,
A road warrior, chef and cook,
Catching him watching soccer or with rods and hooks,
Strong arms and fists to carry me as a child,
Strong words and discipline to correct me when I was wild,
A big heart and beautiful soul, to help me supersede,
And even with all his flaws, he provided me all my needs.
A day in June, when sticky, hot and sunny,
I think of my Papi.
