Purim- Not Halloween
So, I was not a fan of Purim at first, it reminded me too much of the Pagan holiday Halloween. The masks and coustumes were too familiar to the trick or treat holiday I detested, even as a child where people mimic demons and spirits as fun. NOT! But, Purim is older than Halloween and it involves the story of Esther (Real name Haddasah). If you already read the book/story of Esther, then you know how the story begins and ends. It is another event where the Jews were persecuted, but the Jews win and then they eat! Although Purim (like Hanukkah) is not considered part of one of the 7 High Holy Days (holidays) it is apart of History and so why not commemorate it.
