Baran (Persian: باران) is a 2001 Iranian film directed by Majid Majidi, The movie is set during recent times in which there are a large number of Afghan refugees living on the outskirts of Tehran. Almost a silent movie, Baran won a number of awards both nationally and internationally for the director and writer Majid Majidi. The movie is about maturing of the character Lateef and his silent romantic interests in an Afghan refugee, Baran, in the construction site where he works. Baran's father is injured at work and so she disguises as a boy in order to work.

Children of Heaven (Persian: بچه‌های آسمان) is a 1997 Iranian film by Majid Majidi. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1998. It deals with a brother and sister and their adventures over a lost pair of shoes.

I saw this movie about a month ago at the Israeli film festival. Two brothers that everything drives apart, except for the fact they are both Jewish, meet again in Israel after years of silence. Dan chooses to work on the land, living in a kibbutz in the south of Israel. Aaron is a doctor of law and philosophy and a distinguished scholar of the Torah, who comes to Jerusalem to defend the rights of Torah students.
